Public Comment: New podcast to focus on issues facing North Smithfield

“Sarah LaFontaine and Elizabeth Hammond say it’s a love of their town that’s inspired a podcast focused on educating others about North Smithfield government, from the basic structure and function, to its major projects and controversies. Their new series, “Public Comment” premiered on Monday, March 23 with a first episode introducing the program – and featuring plenty of solid, fact-based information on the town itself.”

“Sarah LaFontaine and Elizabeth Hammond have become best friends while creating the “Public Comment North Smithfield” podcast, which focuses on their mutual love for North Smithfield politics, transparency, and gossip. Both are members of the North Smithfield Democratic Town Committee, and felt that a lot of important conversations involving policy and debate happened over Facebook, and excluded people who did not come from the town.”
